Trump Greenlights Iran Attack Plans but Holds Final Order
Media, citing unnamed insiders, revealed that Trump is currently monitoring whether Iran will halt its nuclear ambitions before making a final decision. One significant target under consideration is Tehran’s Fordow enrichment site, which is concealed beneath a mountain. However, launching an assault on this facility would require deploying the most formidable weapons in America’s military inventory.
Earlier the same day, speaking with journalists, Trump expressed uncertainty about whether he would commit US forces to join Israel’s ongoing military operations against Iran. He stated plainly, “I may do it. I may not do it.”
He elaborated, “I don't want to fight either. I'm not looking to fight. But if it's a choice between fighting and them having a nuclear weapon, you have to do what you have to do, and maybe we won't have to fight.” Sitting in the Oval Office, Trump added, “I have ideas as to what to do. I like to make a final decision one second before it’s due."
Looking ahead, Trump described the upcoming week as potentially “very big” regarding his choice, though he hinted the decision might come swiftly.
On the other side, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected Trump's demand for unconditional Iranian surrender and cautioned that any direct American military engagement in the conflict with Israel would bring “irreparable consequences.”
In a televised address, Khamenei declared, “The Zionist entity (Israel) has made a grave mistake and will face consequences.” He further asserted that Iran would not forgive violations of its airspace or the loss of its “martyrs.”
Tensions in the region have intensified since Friday, when Israel launched multiple air raids targeting various sites in Iran, including nuclear and military installations. This provoked retaliatory missile strikes from Tehran.
Israeli officials report at least 24 fatalities and hundreds wounded as a result of Iranian missile attacks since the conflict began.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media claim that 585 people have died and more than 1,300 have been injured due to Israeli airstrikes.
Trump stated that he advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “keep going” with the military operations but emphasized that he has not signaled any intention to increase US involvement beyond current support.
