Moscow prepares to host 11th annual Primakov Readings International Forum
(MENAFN) Moscow is preparing to host the 11th annual Primakov Readings International Forum, a major event dedicated to global strategic dialogue. Scheduled for June 23, this year’s forum is themed “Global Turbulence” and will bring together key Russian officials and international experts to discuss the shifting world order.
Among the prominent Russian attendees will be Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, presidential aide Yury Ushakov, and Federation Council Deputy Chairman Konstantin Kosachev. The event will also welcome diplomats, scholars, and policymakers from over 16 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, China, India, and Iran.
The forum will feature panel discussions on critical geopolitical issues, such as the strengthening of the Russia-China partnership, the strategic triangle involving Russia, the U.S., and China, and the potential for managing rivalries in an increasingly fragmented international landscape.
Participants will also explore the evolving roles of the Global South and examine new models of cooperation across Greater Eurasia, including partnerships like BRICS, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
Aleksandr Dynkin, president of the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO RAS), emphasized that the world is undergoing a profound transformation. “The illusion of a rules-based, unipolar system has collapsed,” he said, attributing the current crisis in global governance to both failed policies and deep structural changes in the balance of power.
Organized by IMEMO RAS in collaboration with the Primakov Center for International Cooperation, the forum honors the legacy of Evgeny Primakov—a respected Russian statesman and thinker—whose vision of a multipolar world remains influential in today’s geopolitical discourse.
