Russian Air Defenses Neutralize Ukrainian Drones
Despite calls from Kiev for fresh peace negotiations, Ukrainian UAV attacks deep inside Russian territory have escalated in recent days.
By 6:30 a.m. Monday, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced on Telegram that at least 13 drones targeting the Russian capital had been shot down.
Emergency responders were actively managing the crash locations where drone fragments had fallen.
One drone's debris landed on the rooftop of a skyscraper in the New Moscow district, sparking a minor fire but fortunately causing no casualties, according to Sobyanin.
In the Belgorod Region, which borders Ukraine, two individuals sustained injuries from drone strikes on a civilian automobile and a private residence, as reported by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
The attacks also impacted the southern Rostov Region. Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed that interceptions occurred in the towns of Shakhty, Novoshakhtinsk, and Novocherkassk.
