Gabbard releases additional specifics of ‘Obama coup plot’

(MENAFN) US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has accused former President Barack Obama and top officials from his administration of orchestrating a “treasonous conspiracy” aimed at undermining Donald Trump’s 2016 election win. In a Sunday interview with Fox News, Gabbard said she would soon release additional details about the alleged scheme.

Last Friday, Gabbard declassified over 100 documents which she claims reveal a coordinated effort by senior Obama-era intelligence figures to fabricate allegations that Trump colluded with Russia. According to Gabbard, these officials dismissed intelligence that showed no Russian involvement and replaced it with false reports, laying the foundation for the Russiagate investigation, which she called a “years-long coup” against Trump.

“This is not just politicization of intelligence — this is manufactured intelligence used to achieve Obama’s goal of undermining Trump’s presidency and overturning the will of the people,” Gabbard told Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.

She said further disclosures are forthcoming: “Next week we’ll release more details about how this was carried out and how efforts were made to hide it from the public.” Gabbard added that whistleblowers from within the intelligence community have begun coming forward since the documents’ release.

Among those implicated are former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey, and former National Security Adviser Susan Rice.

Gabbard said she plans to submit the evidence to the Department of Justice and the FBI, emphasizing her commitment to holding those responsible accountable. “Regardless of their power or position, anyone involved in this conspiracy against the American people must face justice,” she said.

Russia has repeatedly denied interfering in US elections. The Russiagate controversy deeply strained US-Russia relations, leading to sanctions, asset freezes, and diplomatic fallout.
