Dengue Death Toll in Bangladesh Increases
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, two individuals succumbed to dengue in the southern zone of Dhaka's municipal area, known as Dhaka South City Corporation, while another death occurred in the southeastern region of the Chittagong Division.
Out of the total number of fatalities, 45 were recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Meanwhile, 11 deaths took place in the northern part of the capital, under Dhaka North City Corporation, and 17 occurred in the Chittagong Division.
In the past 24 hours alone, 448 new patients infected with dengue were hospitalized, pushing the cumulative number of cases this year to 24,183.
Despite the increasing number of infections, 22,708 patients have already been discharged from hospitals after treatment.
Based on health service statistics, women make up 39.3% of the total reported cases.
The Barisal Division, located in the south-central part of the country, witnessed the highest rate of hospital admissions recently, with 95 individuals diagnosed with dengue and admitted within a 24-hour period.
Among the newly reported cases, 84 patients in the Dhaka Division and 81 in the Chittagong Division were also hospitalized over the same period.
