Starmer Defends UK’s Decision to Stay Out of US-Israeli Strikes on Iran
The update, delivered by spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins, came shortly after authorities acknowledged a fourth US fatality. The service member died from injuries sustained during Iran’s first round of retaliatory strikes. Sources indicated that all four fatalities resulted from the same incident in Kuwait.
The announcement was made as the coordinated US-Israeli offensive moved into its third consecutive day. The operation, which began Saturday, reportedly led to the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian figures, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Tehran carried out counterstrikes using drones and missiles aimed at multiple Gulf states, primarily targeting American military installations across the region.
Earlier statements from Central Command revealed that three US F-15E Strike Eagles involved in supporting the mission crashed over Kuwaiti territory in what was described as an "apparent friendly fire incident." All six crew members managed to eject and were subsequently recovered, with officials confirming they were in stable condition.
