Two Palestinians killed as Israeli strikes continue despite Gaza ceasefire

(MENAFN) Two Palestinians lost their lives and eight others were wounded, including a woman and a child, following separate Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to local medical and eyewitness reports.

The incidents took place amid continued accusations that Israel is violating the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since October 2025.

Medical sources said Palestinian Muhammad Khader Tutah was killed after Israeli forces opened fire along Salah al-Din Street southeast of Gaza City.

In another incident in southern Gaza, reports and eyewitness accounts said a Palestinian man was killed in an Israeli drone strike while gathering firewood and plastic materials near the Bani Suheila roundabout east of Khan Younis.

Earlier in the day, six injured people — including a woman and her child — were transported to Al-Shifa Hospital after Israeli artillery shelling struck areas surrounding the Prophet Joseph Mosque in the Tel al-Dahab district of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.

Elsewhere in Beit Lahia, another Palestinian man reportedly suffered moderate injuries after being shot by Israeli forces and was later transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City.

In Gaza City, a young Palestinian was also injured by Israeli gunfire near the Al-Samar intersection east of the so-called “yellow line.”

Reports described the “yellow line” as a boundary established following an Israeli military withdrawal under the second phase of a plan announced by US President Donald Trump aimed at ending the war in Gaza. The line separates zones under direct Israeli military control from areas where Palestinians are permitted to remain.

Local sources said the attacks causing deaths and injuries occurred outside the designated Israeli deployment areas outlined in the ceasefire arrangement.

Witnesses also reported a large explosion early Monday during what was described as an Israeli demolition operation east of Gaza City, accompanied by artillery fire.

In addition, Israeli military vehicles reportedly opened fire toward eastern and central areas of Khan Younis while artillery shelling continued in the area.
