Turkey Says Cruise Ship Evacuees Test Negative for Hantavirus
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s Health Ministry announced that three citizens evacuated from an international cruise ship have tested negative for hantavirus after being transported to the country by air ambulance.
In a statement, the ministry said the passengers were transferred from the cruise ship and placed under strict isolation and medical monitoring upon arrival.
Officials explained that laboratory samples were taken from the three individuals, following procedures similar to those applied to two other passengers previously brought into the country.
“The test results of the three citizens were determined to be negative, and they will remain in quarantine for the recommended period,” the ministry said.
Health teams continue to monitor their condition closely, the statement added, noting that no symptoms have been detected among any of the five individuals currently under observation.
Authorities also stressed that the entire process is being carefully managed and continuously supervised by health officials to ensure public safety.
