Belgian PM Highlights Major Shift Reshaping Global Manufacturing Industry
(MENAFN) Belgian Prime Minister Matthias Diependaele has said that global manufacturing and the broader industrial landscape are being fundamentally reshaped by rapid technological change.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Belgian-Turkish Dialogue on the Future of Manufacturing in Istanbul, Diependaele highlighted the growing importance of digital transformation, industrial resilience, and international cooperation in adapting to new economic realities.
The event was held as part of Queen Mathilde’s visit to Türkiye.
Diependaele said that technologies such as digitalization, automation, and artificial intelligence are no longer experimental tools but are becoming central to modern industrial production systems.
He stressed that countries must adapt by building manufacturing models that are smarter, more efficient, sustainable, and resilient in the face of global challenges.
He also pointed to the value of cooperation with Türkiye, describing it as a key partner in shaping the future of industry.
“Our research institutions and our companies are very eager to deepen the strong partnership we have with Türkiye,”
Diependaele added that closer collaboration between the two sides could help turn shared challenges into shared opportunities, particularly through human-centered innovation and technological development.
