Six Killed, Seven Injured in Israeli Airstrike on Lebanon Home

(MENAFN) At least six people were killed and seven others wounded after an Israeli airstrike struck a residential building overnight in the southern Lebanese town of Kfar Dounine, Lebanon's state-run media reported Tuesday.

The injured were transferred to hospitals in Tyre, Lebanese media confirmed.

The assault extended beyond Kfar Dounine, as Israeli artillery rounds also pounded the outskirts of the towns of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun in the early hours of dawn.

The human toll of Israeli military operations in Lebanon has grown staggering since March 2 — with Lebanese officials reporting more than 2,840 deaths, upwards of 8,690 injuries, and over 1.6 million people displaced, a figure representing roughly one-fifth of the country's entire population.

Daily Israeli strikes and ongoing fire exchanges with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah show no signs of abating, despite a ceasefire formally announced on April 17 and subsequently extended through May 17 — raising urgent questions about the agreement's viability on the ground.
